With frustrations with French train booking websites at an all time high, we quickly found ourselves in Rome - and what a place!
We finally committed to staying in an AirBnB, which was possibly one of the best decisions we have made yet. Our host, Anna, was delightful and made us feel at home in her classic Italian apartment (complete with authentic antique furniture, terrazzo floors and plenty of stone) and was quick to teach us the ins and outs of the Italian capital.
On our first afternoon, Anna and her friend Ricardo whisked us around to show us some of the best things Rome has to offer - including the most spectacular views over Rome.
It didn't take us long to love the city and its high temperatures, which made us feel truly on holidays...
